Hello friends, I'm glad you have come to find out more about Jumping Beans Academy. Let me introduce myself. I'm Christen, but your little ones will call me Mrs. Chrissye. I am the proud owner of Jumping Beans Academy. I have dabbled with other career paths, but I always end up finding a way back to helping children. I can safely say this is my true calling. I have over 15 years in the field of early childhood education. I have experience teaching little ones as young as 12 months up to 12 years. My golden age range is 1.5 to 8 years old. They are so energetic and fun to work with. It brings me so much joy to see them grow into young readers and leaders.
At Jumping Beans Academy our main goal is to make sure your child is confident and prepared for their future educational journey. We focus on literacy, phonics, and fluency. All while bringing the lessons to life and engaging their imagination.

On preschool days, your child will enjoy learning from an actual preschool teacher (that's ME!) for 30 to 40 minutes via pre-recorded lesson... AND your child will have a blast talking to myself and his or her friends at the end of class on live days. This social time is key in our program to build SOCIAL SKILLS and FRIENDSHIPS!

What do we do during Learning Time?
There will be a 30 minutes pre-recorded lesson on missed class days: your child will love spending time learning from an actual preschool teacher (that's ME)!
- Music & Movement: 5 minutes
- Story Time: 5 minutes

What do we do during Jelly Jumpers?
20 to 30 minutes (depending on your child's class) before the end of each live class day, your child will have a blast talking to, hanging out, and playing with me as well as 5-10 other preschool friends.

- Show & Tell: 10 minutes
- Question & Answer: 5- 10 minutes

Classes
Cotton Candy Jellies
This class ranges from age 1.5 to 2 years. Your little one will be entertained and engaged with pre-recorded videos. In the videos your little one will learn how to successfully communicate with basic American Sign Language. At Jumping Beans Academy, we believe early communication is key to confident readers and most importantly confident speakers. Your child will be able to engage in communicating with you, so NO more guessing or fits from being frustrated.
During our online live classes we will practice new signs we have learned in our video. We have calendar time and my favorite, circle time. We have music and movement and story time to fit our lesson and theme for that time.
Blue Razz Jellies
This class range is 2.5 to 3 years. Your little one will be entertained with pre-recorded videos. In the videos your child will be introduced to the sight word of the week along with a new word in American Sign Language. Here at Jumping Beans Academy, we believe in the power of ASL to assist in little ones memorizing and learning new vocabulary words.
During our online classes we will practice and review lessons learned from the recordings. Your child will engage by answering questions, having story time, music and movement, circle time and calendar. All of these lessons will relate to the current theme.
Sugar Plum Jellies
This class range is 4 to 5 years. In this class we focus on Kindergarten readiness. We use basic ASL to help children learn new vocabulary words. At Jumping Beans Academy, we focus on learning phonics, sight words, and fluency to ensure they are ready to read by the time they go into Kindergarten.
During class live sessions, we engage by reviewing the pre-recorded lessons and having circle and calendar time. We practice reading and have story time. We have music and movement and social time to speak with friends. All conversations will be related to the theme and current lessons.
Kinder Kiwi Jellies
This age range is from 5 to 6 years old. In this class, we focus on getting ready for elementary school and becoming more independent. There are activities that help these young minds build character. We have a lot more hands-on activities, such as learning to write letters and numbers legibly, tie their own shoes, and other self dependent skills.
During our online classes, we have circle time and calendar time. Our curriculum still uses basic ASL , as well as, reading skills so they can continue to grow in their literacy journey. We promote independent reading sessions in our online class. This allows every child a chance to read aloud and show off their skills, during story time. We strive to make self-confident readers here at Jumping Beans Academy.
Tutoring and Enrichment
This program is for children K-4th grade. In this program we will begin by giving your child an assessment to determine your child's strengths and areas they may struggle with.
Once we complete the assessment, with your child, we will create an individualized plan to help your child continue on their educational journey with confidence. Our program is built to encourage your child to build a love of learning. We encourage our students to ask lots of questions and repetition is always welcomed as well.
We also offer homework help! Our goal is to have your child confident in themselves as they learn about the world around them.
Think online preschool equals "educational" video games? Not here my friend! We loathe (with a passion) those mind-numbing, fast paced, and ADHD-behavior-inducing "educational" video games, and Youtube videos that make kids addicted.
At Jumping Beans Academy, we use a preschool curriculum that is activity-based. Our curriculum is developmentally appropriate with activities that will prepare your child for kindergarten in as little as 1 hour each day! Our Kindergarten program encourages beginner readers to build confidence and become independent readers, while also learning comprehension skills, through fun and play! There's no need for you to supplement curriculum at home!

We offer a full-time four days a week 1-hour live class. The best part, when you register for our 9 month preschool or Kindergarten program, your child will be ready for a successful educational journey! Just pay our $50 registration fee for On-Demand or $75 registration fee for Live and Premium, and you're all set to join us on the first day of class, January 16, 2024.

- Do parents have to be present?
No. You do, however, need to log your child into the online classroom at the start of each class, but then you can either stay or do other things you need to do.
- Do parents have to print things off or help outside of preschool class?
No. Our curriculum is designed to be hands-on (no worksheets) and self-contained within our 1-hour preschool class each day so you don't have to supplement additional curriculum during the day. However, most of my parents have asked for worksheets , so now I offer them and ask that you try to complete at least one a day or use Fridays to complete them. I never want you or your child to feel overwhelmed so, please go with your child's pace.
- Do parents have to buy art materials?
No. There are supplies required, that I will mail to you as needed.
- Are there other costs besides my monthly tuition?
Yes. There is a once a year registration fee of $75 to hold your child's place as spots fill up fast.
- Is this an online "learning" video game or worksheet website?
No. There is NO video game or worksheet component to our online preschool program... just real, social interaction between an amazing preschool teacher (that's ME!) and a small class of amazing preschool friends. However, if requested by my parents I will email worksheets so they can practice their fine motor and handwriting skills.
- What's the difference between your online preschool and Hooked on Phonics or ABC Mouse?
The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests that preschoolers have no more than 1 hour of screen time. Would you prefer your child use that hour on high-intensity video games or on face-to-face social interactions to prepare your child in EVERY WAY to develop socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively, and linguistically? I believe preschool is a hands-on experience, and playing video games to "learn" isn't how we do things at online preschool.
- What if my child is shy, active, loud, crazy, etc.?
After 15+ years of teaching preschool, I think I've seen just about every type of child there is. I'm excited to teach your child and help him or her have a wonderful experience!
- What requirements do I need to participate?
You'll need internet and a laptop or desktop computer. You can use a tablet or a phone but we don't recommend it because it's too hard to see everyone's faces and actually socialize with them.
- I'm not technical. Will you show me how to login?
Yes. We've put together amazing video training that will walk you through how to login. It's easy!
- What platform is this using?
We use Zoom, a free platform. The links we use to join our online classroom are exclusive to our preschool families so no one else can access the online classroom. Plus, our online classroom is monitored by a teacher (that's ME!) at all times when in use.
- I miss the friends I had with my child's local preschool. Can I connect with preschool parents in my child's preschool class?
Absolutely! After signing up, you'll join our private Facebook group of amazing preschool families. We're super supportive and excited to have you join us!

If your child isn't able to make it to class one day, that's okay! We'll upload the class recordings and give you the link so your child can watch them!
